Reifen Schlag GmbH

In the 24h Classic Race, which took place over three hours on the Friday before the ADAC 24h Race, the Hoosier-Lancia Beta Montecarlo achieved an impressive class victory in its first outing as a Group 4 racing car.

During training, Günter Schlag in the Lancia dueled with the Porsche 924 of Pal Singer and Peter Oberndorfer for the pole position in class 34. Schlag only drove two laps and missed pole by 4 tenths of a second. But they were the first three vehicles in this class on Hoosier Slick; Hit on 13″ and the two 924 from positions 1 and 3 on 15″. Obi then had an accident during the qualifying and unfortunately was unable to start the race.

In the race, Schlag achieved a class victory that was never in jeopardy and achieved 28th place overall. Unfortunately, a puncture on the rear right at the beginning of the last lap prevented us from placing within the top 20. The last lap from Hit on the Flat Tire lasted a total of 22 minutes, around 9 minutes longer than the average driving time. Otherwise 19th place would have been possible.

An excellent debut for this car, which you almost never see in circuit racing.
